N95 vs FFP2

Most people will have heard of N95, especially now since the COVID-19 pandemic. N95 is an American standard managed by NIOSH, which is a part of the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Europe uses two different standards. Coming from the EN standard 149:2001 is the "filtering face piece" score (FFP). The standard is maintained by European Committee for Standardization (CEN).

FFP1/P1 standard removes at least 80% of all particles that are 0.3 microns in diameter or larger. While FFP2/P2 removes at least 94% of all particles 0.3 microns or larger. European FFP2 standard is comparable to the American N95 standard (which removes at least 95%)
